Freight Guard

So in their eyes the multiple loads you pulled without issue I'm assuming mean absolutely nothing to them and you are replaceable, especially these days, but they feel the need to "punish" or "threaten" you as they kick you out the door. F'em, don't even look back. There was a good chance they would even cancel on you with it being booked 3 days in advance, telling you the load "cancelled", when in fact they gave it to someone cheaper because they had time to do so.

 

Just keep moving forward. If there is a way to post a rebuttal, do so, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

 

If you signed an agreement to accept the load, then you should commit to it. You might think that person's time is not valuable, but it's still not right to waste their time, plus anyone else who might have been interested in booking the load.

 

We probably get a broker yelling about black listing us or posting a freight guard review maybe a couple of times a year. Never actually had one posted yet. It’s just a scare tactic. This is usually because of broker errors though, such as shipper doesn’t have product, etc. if you book a load you cannot cancel that looks really bad.

 

A good rule of thumb in this type of situation is to tell the broker that you broke down, and your truck will be down for a few days as they have to order parts.
