Everybody ain't out to cheat their employees or contractors.
Fella I know is leased to the outfit I used to lease to; he been there about a year maybe: saw him month back he said he feels they're stiffing him.
Knowing the owners I doubt they're cheating him. Hauling cheap: yea probably.
If your first thought is that someone you regularly do business with will screw you over unless you see everything that has to do with a transaction...That says more about you and the people you work for than everybody else in the country that works in such a way.

Just the same, if I drive and get paid percentage, I'd want to see what the invoice is.
Without transparency, the temptation is too great for someone to fudge the numbers in his favor.
That's not cynicism - it's human nature.adayrider and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
As a company employee (W4) they don't have to show you anything.....

I've worked for percentage most of my career. At first it was a copy of the pro bill attached to your statement. Then it became something you could ask for. Now they can do it verbally or send a e mail. If they want to skim they can do in any situation. Company's dont like everyone having rate sheets because people talk too much and sometimes they can lose work over it.

Interesting. CJndaTruck, in another post, stated they do. I'll have to research when I have the time and get to the bottom of this. Unless someone has a link that shows one or the other.

Yeah, this makes more sense. I still believe it's in the driver's best interest to collect as much documentation as possible.
Forensic accounting can (not always) look at documents and get to the truth. But if the driver doesn't have documents to begin with...well, that makes his cause that much harder if push comes to shove. -
I'm paid percentage and receive the freight bill for every single load I haul.
Every company is not out to screw you. If you choose to work for companies that do you have made a poor decision.Lepton1, Ruthless and EatYourVeggies Thank this. -
This has been my stance all along.
Transparency goes a long way in keeping all parties involved honest.MJ1657 Thanks this. -

As a lease o/o they have to show it to you by law. As a W4 employee they should show it to you, but there's no law saying they have to....Toomanybikes and EatYourVeggies Thank this. -
When I take home time, I'm going to call the outfit in question and ask them what their policy is on the subject.
What are the odds they'll dance around the issue like Michael Jackson on meth?Toomanybikes Thanks this.
