Just gonna leave this here, it’s odd that everyone out here in the sticks that doesn’t have access to quality schools and are destined for a life of manual labor seem to score highest on the SAT. Weird.

There’s a difference between being educated and having knowledge, and both have their own places in this world. But to suggest that someone who isn’t formally educated but has a lot of knowledge isn’t capable of producing offspring that can go on and get formally educated is foolish. This world is full of people that didn’t go on to college but run successful businesses just like it’s full of college educated people who aren’t worth anything outside of their field of study.
Someone from the city with a degree in psychology probably can’t come out and doctor a calf and keep it alive, that doesn’t mean that person is stupid, they just don’t know. On the flip side someone who raises cattle and can doctor them and see to their well-being and can figure out feed rations and knows when the hay is ready to cut, well they might not be educated but they certainly have a wealth of real world knowledge. One look at everyone that’s crying for student loan forgiveness should prove there are many that left college with useless degrees. A majority of them would’ve been better off if their own parents had knowledge about money and taught their children about money and talked to them about how loans work.W Bench Farms, JoeyJunk, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
But as far as a freight shortage, I’m doing my part to decrease the available capacity. The truck is parked in my driveway for the next few weeks, maybe more. I get to be a stay at home dad for a while so that should be interesting. Lol

We thought we had a pretty good plan. But it turns out that wasn’t the plan we were supposed to have I guess. So now we have a new plan. Lol.
Originally I ordered this truck because she and I were going to team 6 months a year and be off 6 months. But when things started going wonky it was too late to change my order to a smaller bunk. So I’ve just been enjoying the room and the fuel mileage by myself the last couple years.JoeyJunk, 77fib77, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
I guess I'am a regular truck driver then .. cause I don't have a lick of College .. and I do things that requires manual labor

Except for the people that come from Family's that ran trucks and people coming into this country from other locations. I see a lot of older people get into it that have skills but harder to find the work they did for so many years. Lot's of the manufacturing jobs have went overseas so they end up doing something different.
I only know a few truckers in real life not Internet and they are all more than able to make decent money doing something else. I guess it is who you surround yourself with that gives you a different impression. -
Plans never go right. Good to have a starting point and a guide but be ready to change on the fly. It all works itself out in the end for the better or worse. Life will go on no matter what.Ruthless, JoeyJunk, jlafume and 1 other person Thank this.

Those who give advice but do not look within are devoid of critical thinking. Critical thinking is when you ask yourself if you’re doing the same things that others are doing.
