Freight shortage?

Yeah, you can admire small towns with simple life after experiencing college and city life. You are now wise and know how things work in this life. You can choose to live in a country side, but you can always go back to a busy complicated life if you wanted to, because you already have skills and experience.

On the other side a person who grows up in a village and never gets educated, does not have that choice, they are only limited to what they know.
This man will grow up being a simpleton, because he never reads any books, his grammar will be so horrendous, that it gonna give headaches to people reading their Internet posts, he will be thinking that he looks cool threatening others to knock their teeth out, because they have different opinion than him.
The sad thing is you really can't blame him, because he grew up in a village where everyone was the same.
He can't and does not want to understand people of other race or religion. He wears his red color hat and stays completely brainwashed, ignorant and blind to the big different things happening in the big world, which he has never seen, because his dad never thought it would be a good idea to spend money on lots of books or visiting different countries to learn about other people culture.

Being a teenager his biggest dream is a tuned diesel pickup truck with an exhaust pipe blowing black smoke. He loves mud trucking and drinking some cheap funny tasting liquid that is called beer (he never tried good real beer, because his local convenience store does not carry anything besides few cheap mainstream drinks).

If this guy becomes a truck driver, he will buy a long nose classic Pete, will stretch the frame, install a shifter taller than his head, install a sun visor blocking half of the windshield, remove mufflers and use engine brake whenever he can, even if it's not needed, even if it wakes half the village or half the truck stop at night, just to impress the same type of village boys as him or make himself seem cool.
He will drive that truck like a maniac tailgating others, he will call other drivers snowflakes for driving aero dynamic trucks and he will just refuse to give up that 5mpg truck even if there is no economical sense in it, just because by getting rid of it, a huge part of his identity will be gone.

Since no young educated girl can fall in love with him and move to the boonies, he marries a nice girl from another village. Since they don't know or don't have access to different sorts of entertainment, they keep drinking that cheap "beer", do mud trucking, watch TV and make babies. When those babies grow up, they end up the same as their parents. Because again, that's all they know.

Yeah, while I agree that nowadays college a lot of times is a waste of money, it's still essential to get educated without getting an useless degree with a crap load of student debt.

Of course I also know that not all country people are the same as I described and there are plenty of exceptions, however that is the norm. The only ones different are those who got educated. That brings us back to the original argument. Leaving in a Metro one has better access to education vs somebody who grew up and got raised in the middle of nowhere and unless that village boy is different and reads books nonstop vs hanging out with his buddies, he is gonna end up just like his parents.

Sorry if I hurt someone's feelings, but the amount of teethless, overweight, dirty, can't put together a sentence, truck drivers is just staggering. Yeah, not all of them are from a country side, many are from the cities, but still, all of them seem like they struggled to finish high school.

 

I’ll leave this here again, all these uneducated simpleton kids who want to go mudding seem to be scoring higher on the SAT than other states.

Also, Michigan is number 39 on the list.

Why is that? What was up with him? I don't go to politics section and I missed the whole drama with his posts being deleted and him getting banned eventually.

 

I am not familiar with SAT scores since I did not go to school here, but I will read about it.
Also you are wasting time trying to insult me with Michigan being at the bottom. Again, I am not trying to put myself up and look better than anyone else, I am just sharing my life observations.

 

You just sound incredibly ignorant when you try and paint a big swath of the country as being toothless hicks who don’t know their butt from a hole in the ground while preaching about how great the metro areas are because people learn how to speak well.

The SAT is the placement test that is taken as part of college admissions. Yes I did throw the dig in about Michigan seeing that you choose to paint everyone that doesn’t go to college as dumb. Theres a whole lot of educated book smart people that are worthless as tits on a boar in the real world.

 

I hope someday you find yourself stranded on the outskirts of some small town that you like to call a village .. and you end up at the mercy of one of those so called toothless simple uneducated villagers you refer too .. I also hope they educate you on the ways of country life .. I can about guarantee they will with your attitude
But it probably will never happen because your educated enough to not venture into a area that you know you can't exist because you think your superior to them

Man, I am not superior to them. I am still just a trucker leaving in a suburb of Detroit, that does not make me anything special.
I also grew up in the poorest country in Europe, in one of the poorest little towns right after Soviet Union fell apart. That childhood was a definition of 3rd world life.
Coming to your village is not gonna teach me anything new or give me any new life experiences.

Even though I negatively described country guys when it comes to education, I don't think that they are bad people. It's quite the opposite. Country people usually have good heart and way more genuine than city folks.

Even when it comes to you. You might not have the perfect smile, you might not write the perfect sentences and you might not know how to properly express your anger without getting physical threats involved, but I am sure you would give me a hand if my truck breaks down in your middle of nowhere little town, because it would feel wrong to you not to help a person in need, even if you don't like him.
