we own 2 1999 Freightiner century. Both are having issues with the gauges and we can no longer purchase original gauges or the whole cluster. I am being told i have to do a conversion, they sell the new gauges but no one can seem to know how to convert (went to two Freightliner dealers ) and their shops have no idea.
    Can someone help with that?

I talked to both Doggett Freightliner in Pharr Tx (service and parts department) and to Doggett Freightliner in San Antonio Tx (service department). Both stated i need the new gauges with the jumper cables but none where able to tell me how to replace the old ICU2M with ICU4M in order for the Gauges to function. Currently the gauges do not fit.
Also, i have a copy of the link you provided, but it does not provide information on part number for the ICU4M.

I am currently at a lost.

Did you look at the 2nd through 4th pages? There are all the tables for the conversion. You need to look up what you have configured on your truck using the last 6 of your vin.

If you are unable to do this, then take it to a competent FTL certified dealer and show them the SB 54-289. That gives all the information needed with referencing the supplemental information in the document in order to complete the conversion.

I have taken it to the dealer and the conversion runs between $6,000 to $8,000 per almost $5,000 in parts alone. I have managed to procure a used cluster and it seems to work fine. Only issue is one of the gauges is bad and freightliner do not sell them anymore.
Where could i find an aftermarket gauge that fits?
