I don't have a boost gauge, something else that take some dollars so I'll have to wait a bit.

Wally they are cheap and you really should have one. every truck needs a pyro, boost gauge at least and if you want to play with HP then I'd recommend a fuel psi gauge. Boost gauges are cheap and if you still don't want to spend the coin then stop in at 4 states in Jolin and they have boxes full of used ones.

Martin I don't know about the A. I think he said he has an almost compete B model too. Think it has a cracked head but he said I could put the b model pum on it but I don't know how much that helps.
I told him to buy my cummins so I could buy my buddies C model, lol

I actually kinda like this cumins if it turns out to be in good shape

Yeah big cams were decent, more reliable than the isx in my opinion.

You can get a head for the B model for around $350, the B had a different pump from what i now, the A was pretty much identical to the B, still 425hp and 1450ft-lbs. Buddy had a 3406A ATAAC, with aftercooler, 425hp, that block had way over 3 million on it. If the A is in decent shape i would go for it if he wants a straight up trade.

it's in his truck running now. It has the front cover leaking though, that's the thread he found me from. He even offered to come help me put it in, he lives next door in Cajun coon ### land. I just don't know. Beside with no job I have no cash to make the swap. As long as my motor checks out it only needs a fan clutch. it has a direct drive fan on it now.
So I'm thinking if it's okay then I may just run it and find an E model. I'd really like an E kitty.

Cruise is a little funny on mechanical motors. The later c model cats often had it but never did work well. We had so many problems with the units the dealer was trying everything including them universal car units you can buy from JC whitney lol, actually that was one of the better units we had

    you're biased! lol.

I guess I've gotten spoiled over the years. Plus I like doing stuff you don't see often.

Did you see the powerliner with the KTA for sale?
