good things- looks good, no multiplexing junk, easy to work on engine.
bad things- lower mpg compared to Cascadia, hard to do backups (like classic freightliner).
Coronado may have dd15 and isx installed. depend year of manufactured it may have epa07, epa10, ghg14 engines.

Here's ours when it was brought home new. Very comfortable, handles well, quiet. This one is the SD122 and has Tuff Trac rear suspension, but the truck rides almost as good as our air ride Star 4900.
Everyone that drives it loves it. But I have learned a few things along the way:
1. The dimmer switch for the dash never works despite being replaced.
2. The little LED strip lights in the breathers don't last very long and tend to burn. And are $300 Canadian to replace. (they come in a set of two.)
3. The headlight lenses are almost a grand to replace both sides when they get smashed by rocks.
4. Keep the hood tilt helper cylinders lubed at the ball joints, or they will break off.
That's it. Our only other problems were all with the ISX under the hood.Attached Files:

I know this is an older post but maybe yas will still chime in. I'm a company driver but seriously thinking on getting a truck. I just found 3 coronados here in chattanooga for sale. They all 3 look to be in good shape on craigslist. I'm going to see them this afternoon. They all have detroit 60s and range 820,000 to 1.1 mil miles. Prices are 2009 model is$14,800, 2008 model is $15,200, and 2008 $15,800. What yas think. That sounds kinda cheap but could just be a good deal

Get rid of the dpf, do an in frame and you are good to go
Trucker Nunnery Thanks this. -
So ya think another $10k n id have a good truck. I'd be just starting out so def cant handle a year of trips back to the shop. I know a used truck is a used truck but if the Coronados are pretty solid trucks I just might try it. Dune T I'm blaming you if it goes south. Lol

Can someone tell me what engine would be in a 2008 and 2009 Coronado? Would it be a 14liter series 60 with egr and dpf emissions stuff or would it be the dd15?
-
most likely it will ave a 14.0L 60 series detroit, or a cat with a DPF on. if it has emissions on it i wouldn't buy the, those were the first years. overall they are good trucks. its a Columbia or a century class with a hood on it, the cabs are the exact same.

in a very very rare case it my be a dd15 with a DPF but no SCR or DEF
