Had it been 12 or 17 months, or 90,000 miles. I would likely agree with you.

But less than 60 days or 10,000 miles

    Not so quick to agree.

want me to take a picture on with a straight edge on it tomorrow for you.

It's straight. There is no bends or anything to it.

I believe you; it's entirely feasible that it's lens distortion. But it looks bent in the pic.

sorry if I come across a little curt on this.

I had prepared for an engine, tranny, diff. Major component.

    NOT a #### frame rail.

It will be interesting to see how many are out checking their frame rails now tonight or tomorrow....:biggrin_25523:

That is exactly what I was thinking also. This looks like a crack that has been previously repaired!!!!

When you did the look over the rusted area on the truck? It didnt get looked at im guessing? It couldve been a loose bracket or bolt or another moving part, regardless if it was inspected it wouldve been seen. The area is not covered in sludge as the rest of the truck clearly is, so it looks to be a clearly visible area if someone did a level 1 inspection like you say was done then someone wouldve been required to get on thier back and crawl under the truck and look over exhaust, i mean GHEESH i would have gotten a look at the clutch throwout area to checkout some of the springs to see condition of pressure plate clutch area just to see if it had been serviced. I wouldve looked for gunked up crap and why its gunked up, ujoints.. i mean the list goes on and on. I bought my truck for under $4k cash and i looked it over as deep as you could and got crudy and dirty in the process and no one did it but myself????? How do you purchase a newer truck for more money and then expect to run 48 states and not be able to look over your purchase properly??? Not to be an ARSE here bud but wow you want a replaced frame rail on a truck which has had 3 owners its not like it has a RECALL or a TSB out for it. Truck was probably misused by another company driver and banged the crapper out of it end of discussion.

Now onto making way with you problem, your going to have to pull that engine out and trans and bandaid the truck with another metal U piece and get her back together and stop crying. This is how alot of the older dumptrucks were built down here in south florida and repaired when cracks like these would occur problem is you have it in the worst place possible....good luck

I agree with MJ, its out of warranty, Take the truck to a good frame shop and get it fixed, you're looking at best at 2 hours prep time , too sand and grind it out then weld it back...
