KW are cramped cab so if you are daycab they suck. We got some, I won't drive them. FTLR has more driver friendly controls and larger cab
Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Bottom line, some folks like Ford's, others like Chevy's.

I'd link you're name if I knew how toomanybikes. The engineers at freightliner put the mirrors in wrong places but more than likely they've never driven a truck. And yes no doubt about it cascadia is cheap. I was just commenting on my experience Paccar scares me period. Cummins while formerly reliable have heard new ones last 250-350k engine needs rebuild. Now dd15 while not best motor(what is anymore) is reliable to a greater extent than a lot of other trucks. But you know looking at Kw900 you don't hear about many problems with them. Electrical gremlins but nothing like Volvo. I would endorse w900.
Steel Dragon, Toomanybikes and x1Heavy Thank this. -
as long as i ain't buyin, i'm driving whatever they give me.Dave_in_AZ, Steel Dragon, bigguns and 3 others Thank this. -

Oh yea, the 3mph off. If you detect that discrepancy on your personal GPS laptop or mobile phone speed app (I actually have one on mine believe it or not... as a check against my crappy moneypit tahoe...) then you have a problem.
FFE did that to us with our Century in 2001. It showed 65. But Wisconsin Madison highway had these yard sticks that I used to time against the speedo for speed trials... (135 goes by like 20 seconds roughly... a bit less...) we submitted the tractor to the shop and showed the GPS evidence to safety and shop. Both bosses pretty much swore us to secrecy about that.
It involved insurance premiums. They were cheaper across the entire non president fleet at 63 in amounts that are like a pile of chips in front of a degenerate gambler. So they casterate the truck at 63 and leave it hidden.
As a team, that 63 mph truck getting to Avenel NJ takes a extra one to two hours across the USA, Precious time we do not have nor does Dispatch who is constantly messaging us that were now 7 minutes late or 4 minutes to the good.... from LA.Steel Dragon Thanks this. -
@Toomanybikes
You went a lot more in depth than me, but you are spot on. We have replaced so many rear windows on the daycabs it ridiculous. The seatbelt keeps me from leaning forward to see things when I turn. I don’t like the pseudo vent style front window, they put the fire extinguisher in the floorboard to the right of the driver seat, the rattling windbreaker that had to be updated with new braces. I’m not sure I will ever get used to looking at a radiator tank that looks like it’s half empty either.
The cb antennas are worthless unless you don’t mind a half mile range. The covers over the spot mirrors rattle, the rubber liner underneath the fairing is just waiting to be ripped off by a bumpy road, the freaking fuse panel is behind a plastic shield in the glove box, WHY???
So when I hear the new Crapcadia is redesigned, it gives me little hope.Steel Dragon, Toomanybikes, Dan.S and 1 other person Thank this. -
Put lipstick on a pig you still have a pig. Just like chrome on a freightliner its still a freightliner
Steel Dragon, shogun, x1Heavy and 3 others Thank this. -
