Yep, volume us down. Got offered a load today. 440 dollars…. Reply, I cannot support that…. Wondering if some one will, and work to bankruptcy. Big companies it can go fast, small fleets and o/o, a slow death. Still, a lot of pressure on big fleets.
There are times when it might make sense to haul something like that, JUST to get out of that market. 440 is a bit stupid, but Denver, South Florida, and Alaska's outbound have always been a bit rough. I have taken some BS out of places just to avoid deadheading. Can't make that a habit though. The only way I would go into a place like that is if the rate was good enough that if I had to d/h to Atlanta (for example) it wouldn't hurt too much.
