That link will take you to the video I just made. It shows how the frequency counter acts when I start the radio up, and, by the end of the 16 second video, you will see the last digit change. Notice it says 35 MHz when I start it up.

The last digit on those counters will vary with the temp of the radio. Actually, the radios actual frequency, will drift depending on temp of the radio...
All radio's will drift frequency a little as they warm up..

Thats not a bad price for that counter. I have one (an older green one) I wired into my grant xl with a channel mod. Saves me from keeping a road map to find the freq's I want.:)

I couldnt watch the vid on my phone, but if it just flashes 35mhz when first turned on, then settles into the actual frequency the radio is on within a couple seconds, that is normal. Dont worry about the 6th digit on that counter.

    bored silly Thanks this.

Aww rats. I just googled "video sharing website" so I know nothing about it. It does work on my iPhone however.

You're right ultimately. The radio continues to transmit and receive perfectly fine IMO.

@Ridgeline said being off by 0.00010 was acceptable. According to the counter, I'm within a fifth of that tolerance anyway.

I have a freq counter on my galaxy dx44v, and for channel 19 it reads 27.1830 and sometimes 27.1829, at first i thought this was a problem but i talk to guys all day long and they say i sound fine so i don't really worry about not being 100% on the dot. Its off by .002 on every channel but i still talk on my channels like nothing is wrong with it!
