i heard this on a radio talk show, yesterday morning, from some professor being asked why the friday the 13th is the way it is, regarding not being lucky, he explained it had to do with the Last Supper of Jesus and his subsequent nailing to the cross...
here is a quick explanation, that started (in the professor's words) the friday the 13th superstitions..
Some believe this is unlucky because one of those thirteen, Judas Iscariot, was the betrayer of Jesus Christ. From the 1890s, a number of English language sources relate the "unlucky" thirteen to an idea that at the Last Supper, Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th to sit at the table.
