Just a thought, the compressor is toast.
If you have a modified sine wave inverter, then that will do it.
But because Midea makes cheap cheap appliances, it may just be it was just tired.
I have a Midea portable A/C unit, I used it for a bit for my work trailer, it would not work with the inverter I had but a Honda generator it worked well.
