Friendly advice on trucks

If you have the ability to search more and have more choices I would go with a truck that has a pre EGR ISX or DD in it. Much better fuel mileage and no EGR BS to worry about going wrong and screwing things up.

What is the rear end ratios in them?

 

I would just go with something older. Where are you going to be running? What kind of freight? any California?

 

Why not look at an Older Peterbilt 386....AeroDynamic and will hold its value allot better then a FL or a Sheet Spreader....

If I where you I'd be looking for a Peterbilt 386 or a KW T660 with a 13 or 18 spd. There light, aerodynamic, hold there value, look good, and can be had for pretty cheap.


P.S I've driven all kinds of FL's from FLD's to columbias and Century Class and there not that great. There Cold, drafty, rattle, shake, shimmy, vibrate, loud, fall apart, leak everything from everywhere!

Yeah I agree with the whole FL deal. Can you say waterfall from the windshields??? I would look at a T600/660 or a Pete 386. Great looking trucks, they do hold value much better then a shaker and are easy to find. Now if your planning on running CA your going to want to look at something from 04 or newer. I would go with either a 13 or 18 speed. It will actually help with fuel mileage. Motors depend on a lot. If its is use whichb it is dont get one without a backround on the truck and a full print up of the ECM along with a dyno and blowby tests.
