Congratulations! If they are like the folks were at Frito Louisville, it will be a very casual experience and no stress. Good luck and I hope you get the job since it was a great place to work. I have nothing but great memories of my years with Frito and still have many friends from there.

Yes I will try to update everyone tomorrow nite on how things went,I am a little nervous been over 20 years since I had a interview, but I think I will be fine,Thanks to all the good info everyone has sent me on frito lay.
mgt1085 Thanks this. -
Well had that interview today,1st surprize was 3 people I had to anwser questions from, was not expecting that at all,I answered all questions as best I could,I thought it went o.k. and think I made a good impression on them,I did find out there are 12 or 14 trying to get 2 positions that are avaliable,so I guess now it's wait and see, said would be 3 or 4 weeks before I knew anything one way or the other, afraid it's gonna be hard going against that many people for the same job, that's my biggest concern, guess that is to be expected from all the good things I have heard abt. frito lay,I will update everyone when I hear something.
DirtyBob and kerosene jockey Thank this. -
Worked as a driver for 10yrs. retired in 2011. Good pay . Over 50,000 first year. Start on bottom of seniority list. Mostly unloading trailer then bring back to plant. Sometimes one night layovers. Runs go out all hours of a 24hr period. Hotel is paid for. A lot of physical labor ,but excellent pay and benefits.

I talked to them last week in Topeka about a job and they told me I would be on extra board driving list for like 2-3 years. Only taking what was left over and a different truck every time I went out. Everyday I would have to wait by the phone and they would call me when a load was ready and I would have to leave within an hour, any day of the week, any time of the day. Then they said I would drive 50% of the time and have to unload 50% of the time. I hate running team, and they said I would have to do team loads a few times a month. No thanks. To unpredictable of a schedule for me. If a person could live that lifestyle they are a great company to work for.
kerosene jockey, Peterbiltman and airforcetoo Thank this. -

I know what you are saying,I ain't worried abt. a background check or a drug test.My concern is those other 12 or 14 people if that is so,times have sure changed forsure,20 years ago if you went for a interview it was a safe bet you had the job,My understanding is they will let me know something one way or the other, will let you know when I hear something, please keep me updated on how things are going for you and Frito.
DirtyBob Thanks this. -
Well just to let everyone know,I still ain't heard anything yet, maybe next week I will hear something. Will keep you all updated.

Haul bulk loads from different plants for them, all loads are around 4,500 pounds and is loaded in a 53 foot trailer floor load to the doors. I haul altitude sensitive loads, some bags will crush at high altitudes so specific routes must be followed.
All the drivers in the rigs seem to like it and it is pre loaded from what I see and hook and go.airforcetoo and Peterbiltman Thank this.
