USXpress only has a 3% stake in Abilene, and the main reason they haven't bought that last 3% back is so we can use some of there yards as drop yards across the country. USXpress has no say in the day to day operations of Abilene.

I'm with you on calling BS about the hometime. I've only had one instance where I was late getting home and I was asked if I was flexible on the date. I was, so it was not a big deal. But, my mom is having surgery on the 15th, so I put in for 4 days & will make sure I get in on the 14th. I will start reminding them next week so I don't get caught someplace I can't get back from. I thought it might be an issue since I will have only been out 2 weeks, but was told not a problem. That's good, because I'm all the family she has.
This week will be the best week since starting with Abilene. It took me a minute to get in the groove with all the truck issues, but now I think things are settling down (keeping fingers crossed, knocking on wood). I will end up with 2800 miles this week (and that's with starting on Monday from home time). Even with the crazy load I had to Bensalem PA. Then turned around and DH back to Hill Phoenix to drop mty trl (which they really didn't need). Got a 2 stop load to Hialeah & Doral FL off the yard. Delivered today & picked up in Sarasota & Odessa FL heading to Liberty NC & Rockville VA. Was supposed to deliver tomorrow, but dispatch didn't give me the load until noon and I was 225 miles away with only 5 1/2 hours to drive & OMG, the rain & accidents! This one car spun out right in front of me, hit the jersey wall in the median and bounced back into traffic right at me. I thought for sure he was going to hit me, but he stopped about 2 feet away. The guy I'm delivering for was cool about the load not delivering tomorrow & will have people to unload me in NC Saturdaymorning. Apparently, I'm going to some big wheel's house in the country with some furniture. Same in Rockville. I will only have 1 pallet left and the guy is going to come unload it himself Saturday whenever I get there.
runningman0661 and Truckin' Monkey Thank this. -
Yea same here home time has been a priority I usually get home on time no problem,
rebelchick glad to hear u rolling pretty good now -
Dropped Shawn in Richmond Friday night and got a load from dispatch to get me headed towards the house. I left Saturday morning, dropped the trailer I picked in Richmond at the drop yard in Lexington, NC and bobtailed to the house for home time. I got home about noon on Saturday and had a great 2.5 days at the house. Now I'm just waiting for dispatch to get back to me on our next plan of action. Hopefully they will just dhead me back to Richmond, so I can pick Shawn back up and we can get rolling. Be safe!

I got my drop off yesterday in Tamarac and went back to the house. I called into dispatch this morning to let Kimberly know I would be ready to load in the AM. Just waiting to hear back.

Got to Richmond and picked Shawn up. We grabbed a load that delivered in Deleware, Ohio at 0300. We delivered that and then went to the truck stop for a few hours of sleep. Got a dispatch about 0830 to go down to Genpak in Columbus, Ohio and grab a load that was going to Sabra in Colonial heights, Va.. Dispatch wanted us to drop that in Wytheville and grab a load that was sitting there that had two stops near Melriose Park, il. Our first stop is 0300 and it's gonna be tight, if we run into any construction or accidents it's going to be late. Gonna do the best we can. Be safe!

Put truck into shop Sunday with a list of 8 things that needed to be fixed. Got a call from Kimberly Monday afternoon that truck was ready, so why wasn't I back? Came back Tuesday am to a load going to Scarborough ME. I'm, like no-the bunk heater is still broken. Waiting on a part. Chris at the window asked why can't you drive the truck with no bunk heater. I asked him if he had heat in his house. Was still taking load to be reported at some point since there was no way I could've even delivered it on time anyway. Then I get a call from Kolon. Had to go meet with him, Bill and Scott. Got quizzed on my little experience and how did I slip thru- um, your people put me in a truck. (I only have 8 months experience). I asked him if I had done anything wrong. I haven't had any service failures or (knock on wood) issues other than mechanical. I had to tell them the routes to get to Wytheville, Chicago, And Columbus. And the truck stop on 23 near columbus, what is it and what side of the road is it on. I feltganged up on, actually. He said that the minimum experience is 2 years and that I might hVe to go out with someone. My reply...I'm not teaming. Period. Been there done that. Almost got killed 2 or 3 times when my "trainer" (not with usx) fell asleep behind the wheel. Haven't heard anything else from them. Got a load off the yard, went to brunswick ga, reported, came back to the yard, got an amazon and delivered to hebron. Now waiting at ta to see what's next. Whew!
