Yeah, I've very very happy about this. Training was one thing I was pretty anxious about. I've read too many training horror stories. At least now I know training will be with someone I trust and I can focus on learning about trucking not wondering if this trainer is gonna scream at me when I don't do stuff right or leave me in the truck in front of his house when he goes on hometime or other crazy crap like that.
From idea to actuality!

Well I need y'alls help on something....
I have decided that before I start school I am gonna create a new thread. I will summarize all that has happened so far including everything covered in this thread.
My reason for wanting to creat a new one is I would really like both "Crowder" and "Con-Way Truckload" in the title so that people considering either can more easily find it and might actually be helped by my daily chronicled journey. When I first started looking on information I found out that recent information was not easy to locate.
The problem comes in here... I am HORRIBLE at titles.
So what I need are suggestions for titles for my thread at starting at Con-Way Truckload. It will chronicle my journey from a passenger on one of their trucks to a prospective hire, to a student at Crowder, through training, and out into my team driving career. My only specifications are having "Crowder" (or "Crowder College") and Con-Way Truckload in it.
Any of y'alls help will be greatly appreciated! -
From Crowder College to Con-Way Truckload!
American TruckerWedge Thanks this. -
Finally got caught up with this thread!!!Great reading and it helps us newbie/students so much! Thanks!
I don't have any great ideas for your new thread title, outside of a mundane..."Crowder Con-Way", but am very interested in your and Chris' story... a good friend of mine is with Werner right now and about to jump ship to Con-Way... I also postponed my school till Feb...4 1/2 weeks then whoever hires me....
Keep on on the BP and glasses and I bet you'll do fine... 90% of EVERYTHING is "Want To", and you sure seem to have that! Best of the future to you guys and maybe see yall out there one day this summer!

"My journey from Crowder to Con-Way" - just an idea...

I'm hopeless at titles. I envy people who can sum up in a few words something that seems to take me forever. I am thinking of plagiarizing the book titles "What Katey Did" (training) and "What Katey Did Next" (trucking). That's the best I can do.

Frist all Katey, you are very inspiring. You want this and your going for it and that says alot about you. Not saying that age is an issue, but at your younger age, many would not have such drive and determination as you do.
I am assuming that your bp and vision issues are in check and you got your card? If so, then that's great congrats!(I am assuming this since you said your starting school) As my husband always tells me I always make a bigger deal out of the small stuff than there needs to be.
Since you are past the bp issue, I did want to mention that I do understand how you feel. One thing that many don't think of with bp is the birth control pill. I diden't have issues with my bp untill I started the pill. (which was 11 years ago) and my Dr put me on a bp med. After a year the cost was crazy and i was having issues with the med. I took myself off of it which can be very bad, but I did anyways. My Dr at that point changed the type of pill I was on to a lower homone level which in return brought my bp down but I have still been borderline and when I am home I get 'normal' readings that range from 120-130/70-80. Then I go to the DR and I am high again and she keeps telling me I have bp issues, but fails to remember I am on the pill! My point to my long story is always keep your DR's in check. Always tell them everything your taking from a simple multivitiman to perscribtions. Even family history is important.(which again my DR fails to remember) I am currently trying to locate a differnt dr, but that can be difficult due to insurance and drs not taking on new people, since I have having all these issues. At this point, I don't really know what my true bp is due to everywhere I go, via dr, pharmacy, or home it's all different readings, but again I think it comes back to the bc pill and my diet. (the low sodim is the hardest part) I am glad you have gotten your BP in check. It's a good not only for your truck driving, but your overall health. You have a long wonderful journey ahead of you and your bf and keeping your bp in check is a great way to keep from other major health issues keeping you from that journey. Keep it up hun! You'll do great!
