So my first trip to the Westcoast went well, delivered a load from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Sacramento, California. I took I-80 West and it wasn't that bad, now I don't know how it is in the winter though and I don't want to find out... LMFAO!!! Now I'm picking up a load Tuesday in Tipton, California to Byesville, Ohio and I wanna know from the veterans the best routes to take. I'd like to avoid I-70 if I can, at least going through Colorado, I've heard some horror stories lol, after that I'm all ears.

    Thanks guys!!

Nah take I-70. It’s some of the most beautiful country you’ll ever see. It’s nothing to be afraid of.

Best time of year to get the experience on 70. You may need it in winter if 80 closes.

80's not bad in winter, but the drivers on it are

Run I-70 now that way if you have to run it again later in the winter months you at least have an idea of what to expect and what not.

From Tipton I’d go to Bakersfield and across 40 to OKC. Then 44 to STL.

Lol, you guys might be right.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it'll probably be faster too, plus less mountains, I think... I'd have to take I-15 go through Last Vegas to get on I-70, I'm just scared that I might get unlucky and some snow storm comes in and now I have to chain on I-70 in Colorado. I didn't have much of a choice for that Sacramento load that's why I took I-80, but this one is different lol.

How fast does ur truck go. I40 sucks if ur governed to 65 . Get caught up in packs all day long with the turtle racers.. i70 is better driving and less truck traffic. Going eastbound u will be mostly going downhill in the colo mountains. Then once ur past denver its easy sailing the rest of the trip

Take I-80 all the way, the route adds minimal time compared to I-70.
