It's really no big deal. Like most things, the tbought of it is worse than the actual event.

I roll up on a rolled up 4" strap on my inside tire. Then my outside tire is off the ground. Way easier to get your chains on, and you can really get them tight.

Speed is subjective. If your truck feels loose under you, then it's gonna be a slow patch. Maybe 20, maybe 65, always different, which makes it fun for me.

I'm guessing the Westcoast gets a snowstorm every year like how Florida get an Hurricane every year.

I don't know about fun but that's good to hear, you guys know any good weather apps or sites to stay informed of the weather?

So what about the guys that work there everyday? Its not an option. Ive chained up next to garbage trucks, mixer trucks, dump trucks, food service, p&d drivers, coca cola. You name it. Parking might work for an otr guy going in and coming out one time. But some people do it day in and day out and have no problem with it

Find a better company.. you're risking your livelihood every time you do that sh##.. Can you not do that?? Yeah you can chain but that doesn't mean the drivers around you are doing the same.. you see the risk you're accepting?? Do you see that?? Yeah you may make it a few times but ultimately you'll be crashed on a snowy ice ridden highway and your life is on the line..as well as others.. you want that on your conscience?? NO!! Have the Internal fortitude to shut it down.. Don't be greedy... Everybody knows you make less money OTR during the winter months.. Check your ego at the door.. that's the key to success..You're no hero.. play long enough and you'll find out.. hopefully not the at the risk of a prison sentence.. You're not special... you can believe that!!

LOL . So lets just shut down all the freight because a couple a snowflakes fall out of the sky.. got it..guys like u make me laugh. u must not have ever worked in a part of the country where it snows 8 months out of the year...Every single truck i mentioned is a local guy going home at the end of the day. Maybe they should all stay home from september to may, since its armegeddon and the sky is falling. No food in the stores , no trash picked up, no buildings built. What a life..

I actually made more money in the winter cuz i aint a skeerdy cat and did stuff people is unwilling to do. Thats how u seperate yourself in this business. Believe you me. A prison sentence for working in the snow... Ive heard it all now forsure. Thanks for the laugh, a guy sure needs it every now and then

You take your own risks and take your own responsibility.. You make me laugh as well.. when you get on the other side of the law, I'll have no sympathy.. Good companies plan better, front loading, and don't put the driver at risk.. You'll learn soon enough, I'm sure.. I don't want the OP to risk his license and livelihood.. You can run you're ego, that's fine, but eventually you'll find out.. I've seen it many times.. just be prepared to accept your consequences... You can take that risk..

Wtf are u even talking about? if ur doing local work in idaho/montana/wyoming, what are u gonna do when it snows? Stay home? U should be thankful there is top notch experienced hands that are good at what they do, so they can continue to provide for society rain, snow or shine. What about all the construction guys building #### in the blazing cold? Ive delivered plenty of material to jobs like that and had to chain up to get in every single one of them. should they all just go home?

show me where someone said to park because a few snowflakes fell out of the sky? we're talkng chain conditions. I swear I don't know how some of these rambos drive down the road with balls so big they cover the ####in dash. The op is an otr driver. comparing local pacific nw drivers to otr drivers that dont get out that way much is like comparing apples to pizza. Not to mention a lot of companies have a no chain policy nowadays.
