That may have been a mistake.

    'An inch or two...'
Alignment of all the tires and suspension is a fine-tuning sort of thing.
To just change one thing means the entire geometry could be out of alignment.
    And, by an unspecified amount?
1/10th of an inch makes a huge difference, and in some cases .001 inch makes a big difference. You are talking 1-2 full inches!

I have experimented with several cars on the front end alignment. Sometimes it worked like I planned, sometimes it didn't.
But I went in to it with a certain amount of knowledge before asking for 'my changes' to be made.
Most of my changes were in the range of .2 to 1 degree (out of 360 degrees). It is a very small amount of change.

I could be wrong, but that doesn't sound like this case with you.
You seem to be experimenting blind, with no real knowledge.

I do not presume to know anything about the alignment with trucks, and heavy loads, or even the leveling valve.
But I do know that if you change one setting it affects others to some degree.
If you change the rear height it will probably change the caster on the front wheels, possibly the chamber as well. That alone could lead to 'shopping cart syndrome' where the front wheels wobble because the center line of the steering axle is angled too far forward.

Bring the truck to a shop and have them do a proper alignment, and have them adjust EVERYTHING to stock specs.
You need a baseline to work from, and that is the only way to do it.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

I have a similar issue from time to time.

One of our trailers has an unusually short neck, making it necessary to move the fifth wheel all the way back. Fully loaded with 53k in the can, the steers tend to bounce around quite a bit.

NO MORE BOUNCING!!!!! Looking for good ways to improve mileage.

I'm thinking putting a regular bumper on it and an air deflector, maybe a free flow muffler...any suggestions?

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

My immediate thought to op was.

    Are the wheels loose?

I had that happen once when it was floating around.
