Toyo was founded in Japan in '45.
In '66 they started trading in the USA.

I love Toyo’s on my pickup.

Never tried one on big rigs.

    I am biased vs Cooper.

A different lifetime ago my Pa thought he will buy 4 135's over 75 over something like 14 inch tires. For a ford 70's maverick.

In the rain there was a particular stop sign combined with a downgrade combined with a S of increasing severity. The car did ok until I added just a few more pounds of braking and she broke loose sideways violently. No more traction. I took out a chunk of door on the gaurdrail while watching a family in a datsun stop short of a head on with me. Or us rather.

My next car I went the other way on tires. Made 4 Michelin on there 230's over 60's at 15 inch tires on alloy wheels. Hard tread compound. The maximum size you could put on there legally without having to cut fenders and steering etc. Replaced the bad shocks with full gas nitrogen and one sway bar. Next thing I knew I had a vehicle that had good feet.

Let me tell you that ford GT was heavier than the maverick was and what I have done with it for almost three years usually on top end with those tires, they have more than paid for themselves. The best set ever in my lifetime for a car.

I don't think they make them that way anymore but it was also capable of running in 2 feet of slush on our interstate after a 1993 winter storm that week. Two plus feet of slush. No problems other than a lot of second gear on that C4 trans with the 351 winding out a little for finesse traction back there.

Maybe someday I'll give the coopers another look. But they are not going to be the little cheap skinnies. No way.
