I’ve been trying that. It looks like the truck tires will rock a little but I can’t see what the trailer tires are doing.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I didnt enough courage to suggest that. I understand the gently thingy, but have visions of some clowns dropping the driveshaft.
Also if the trailer brakes, release trailer parking brakes. Apply trailer brakes to full cutout pressure a couple times, with trolley valve. Have occasionally had luck with itLast edited: Oct 26, 2020

So my truck brakes are drums but the trailer brakes are hydraulic. I don’t know much about them. So I banged on what looks like can be banged on. But I did notice that I can’t release the button to move my tandemsRideandrepair Thanks this.

Lol thanks. I saw a guy do that about a year ago so I learned from his lesson what not to doRideandrepair Thanks this.

Also...
When under truck, hammering on drums... if dull thud when hitting drums, brakes are on. If drums have a ring, brake is released.
Takes hardly anything for this test. If I have nothing handy, tapping on drums with jack knife is enough to find a froze shoe/drum.Blue Zombie Trucker, KB3MMX, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this. -
Before you park for the night drag your brakes a tad and you won't usually have that issue.

Lower the trailer landing gear to the ground. Dump truck suspension.
Your taking the weight off the truck.
Put truck in 4wd. Put truck in lowest gear. Gently use gas pedal. Trying to slightly spin the tires.
Always worked for me. I've never pounded on the brakes.DUNE-T, Blue Zombie Trucker, Northeast Hillbilly and 3 others Thank this.
