"That, right there is a scary thing. How can you even make that statement with no experience. Too much confidence can lead to disaster, especially for one who likes to take it fast."
Confidence is not a bad thing, over confidence is. While I am confident in my driving abilities, I am also very much aware of my weaknesses. As for being one who likes to take it fast, that certainly isn't me. As I said, even though the truck was gorverned to 62, I was actually driving below that most of the time, usually between 55 and 60. And this stretch of road had a speed limit of 70. So once again, on a road designed for fully loaded trucks to run safely at 70 mph, 60 should be plenty safe enough.
ybr69, I have called Napier. They said I'm welcome to come in and fill out applications. Problem is, that is 70 miles away, and with no income coming in now, money is tight and I don't have money for that much gas. I've filled out some applications online. Now I'm just waiting to see what happens. -
good luck! did you get the names of the ones they have?
-
They've got lots of applications for all kinds of companies. I just need to get down there and look thru what they've got.

hey bud i would reccomend u just feeling out alot of apps with places... it stats for a driver to be quilified he has to have such and such, not no where does it say that he/she must never be fired. I am a recent grad with only 2weeks over the road exp. and i had quit my job cause i had a meth addict team partner and always throwing me out my bunk and he never shower and sh**, and thats not me, so i put up with it as long as i could...well they wanted to put me in the wyoming mountains(elk-3sisters and 2 more) on snow and ice... I said what kind of company would put a full blown rookie on that ####...well my life isnt worth that freight.. so i feel ya about needing a job and not being able to find one, (as soon as we would like). but the fact is, it will come... good luck to u...

Wow. That really sucks. Was that a trainer or just a co-driver? Sucks that you had to put up with #### like that. I know I wouldn't put up with it for long either. My trainer was actually a pretty nice guy. Got us a shower every other day. Even bought me a sandwich from subway one day. I think it was just the stress from getting screwed on miles and he took it out on me, passively. I was sure by the way my trainer was talking with his DM that I would at least be assigned a new trainer by the next week. Hearing I was being terminated was a complete shock.
Good luck to you, too. -
now i no a lot will have a comment to what im saying but such is life.
if the trainer was wrong its simple , give him an attitude adjustment the old fashion way.
its been my expeirence from the ones i have seen that the student knows more then the #### trainer, they really impress me .
go find another job , there out there you just have to look a little harder.
good luck my friend.---southernpride -
Hey dodgeram check with Carter Express. I heard they opened up a yard in Dayton. Good Luck.

Thanks Hillbilly. Will check them out tomorrow. Do you have any info on them?
Southernpride, I wouldn't go so far as to say I know/knew more than my trainer. All I can say is I know what I know. -
