You mentioned M. Enterprises , that you just don't see why FSC exists when hardly anyone expects it anymore.
We don't need the FSC now, as we did a year ago, when the fuel prices were rapidly rising way over 4.00 a gallon. At that time, many drivers were afraid to even go out and pull a load.
My biggest Concern is, if they do away with it altogether., though I believe in a way it should be. Only because the brokers and trucking companies want that bigger cut of the pie, meaning they won't drop their commission on the rate of a load to to allow the driver to see somewhat of a profit. So the fuel surcharge was created to dig more into the pocket of the shipper. They place it on the shipper , which I feel is not fair on their part. That will kill this country.
For that reason it shouldn't even exist. The middleman (brokers/ trucking companies) are still making out , because nothing has changed for them.
My concern is, if it's eliminated all together, and lets say next year or two, the prices of fuel rises traumatically again , which I see that happening too. . What will happen then?
MY opinion is, if the trucker has to take a cut out of his profit, then it should be likewise for the broker and trucking companies on each load too.. Not just One sided bearing all the weight. It should be an all fair done deal.
But that won't happen either.
Ahhhhh, What would this country be like ? Without the Middleman? I see smooth sailing....
I Believe in the "TRUE INDEPENDANT" Owner Operator, without the middleman. But some Owner Operators will bend over backwards for a trucking company.
