Remember Newbies, when you arrive at a shipper and it takes 6 hours to load and you DONT practice "creative logging" vs "telling the truth logging" ie OFF DUTY(not driving) vs the "truth" ON DUTY(not driving(working in a Company capacity), and when your loaded you tell your Dispatcher you cant move because of that 14 hour son%&^**$%^ rule, he will tell you this...."You need to "manage" your hours better and learn how to combine that OFFDUTY and SleeperBerth combo better" to restart or move your checkpoint down the line to ensure you can drive".

You can ONLY imagine what the word "manage" REALLY means(ahem).

Remember, you MUST satisfy TWO bosses at ALL times.....DOT and your friendly hometime Dispacher that cant wait to make it home on time to see Oprah at 5.

Plan AHEAD on your logs BEFORE you get at the shipper and "see" how you can "manage" that sleeperberth/off duty provision to "benefit" yourself for having enuff time to leave the shipper/receiver.

Think.....sleeperberth8, drive 4-6hours, down for 2 straight in OFFDUTY(line1) will move that checkpoint from earlier that day to THE END of the FIRST qualifing break ie "sleeperberth"....Got it?.....ummmm ok, work on it.

10 hours in the sleeper....Combined with doing laundry, getting tossed out of the all you can eat buffet and taking a shower. I swear it has never taken me over an hour to load/unload, just check my logbook!

All kidding aside, get a calculator and try not to average over what your company allows. And don't over log your stops. This will give the DOT guide posts to check your speed.

If I remember right, you just need ot be shut down for 10hrs. Not actually sleeping for 10hrs.

I don't see it as being creative to log sleeper berth if I'm chillin in the sleeper berth for 4 hrs getting loaded or unloaded. I'm not on duty then.

There's plenty of ways to legally shave off time. There should be no need to cheat with teams. We've even done a couple rolling restarts.

See thats what I always have done.. show an hour loading/unloading.. the rest is logged berth.. no way would I show 6 hours line 4.. getting loaded.. lol.. yes technicaly you are on duty while getting loaded.. but unless your lumpin it your self.. I call it off/sleeper.. as long as you show some line 4 for getting loaded.. it still works out :)
