MNDriver I think your talking about 400 degree celcius which is the same as 752 degree Fahrenheit, when driving you should pay attention the fahrenheit degrees, in case you run into trouble and run your engine in the upper temperature, you can save it from hi egt.

    it is Fahrenheit.

Looking at the gauge right now, It would have been running between about 450-600 most of the day.

Normally, it had been running between about 650-800.

I've never had it run over 900.

On flat level ground though, it was running under 400 though.

MNdriver don't ever think for a minutte that I'm going after you, but you pyro gauge may be bad, I have never seen anything near 400, not even while running empty, I normally run about 650 and abve on level ground loaded, but 600 is the coolest I have seen empty which is pretty cool, I'm just saying just in case one day something doesn't work as it should and you think you still under the parameters and in reality it's running on the edge.

Only time I noticed a difference is when I first got my current truck. It would randomly surge while cruising along and after a few of the white bottles of diesel kleen were ran thru both tanks it no longer does it as much. If it does begin to occur I will put two of the smaller bottles in both tanks and it goes away. Seems to help.

ok, I took off today and drove from Aurora ILL to Springfield MO and back to Rolla.

I had 649 miles on the Odometer. Add in 93.3 gallons of fuel. Gives me 6.96 MPG for the tank. I will be anxiously awaiting the final numbers for the week of over all mileage on Friday.
I had been running 5.5 to 6.17 for a range with around 5.8-5.9 MPG for the norm.

It's fuzzy, but here's a picture of the pyro as I was running across the little bump hills of I55 in ILL.

I kid you not. I went from running a normal of 600ish* to 450-500*. Most of the time while flat land cruising, it would be sitting just above the line for the +10 spot. When I was starting to run hills, it was normal to have 15-20 PSI boost and then it would sit right at 600ish*

This picture was after I climbed over an overpass.

Most of the time, the turbo boost was right at 10psi. Before, I would run around 15-20.

    Another thing I noticed today....

Last week I was averaging 2-3 HEST lights per day.
Today, the HEST light never came on.

I no longer have the lope I had at idle. I also would notice before that the engine sounded like a locomotive with that familiar "chug chug chug" sound they make. Today it just droned on.

Throttle response was much better and I was noticing that I could be doing 9th gear and getting ready for 10th by the bottom of the on ramp instead of maybe 7th or 8th.

    reviving this old thread again.

i've been using liquid muscle. whenever the mileage drops. it always brings it back up.

lately i've had a failing turbo and lots of black smoke. so yes, the injectors were really plugging up. dropping mileage to 4. liquid muscle would get it back to 4.75.

in the winter. it was howes having the most effect.

after 4 months of constantly repairing the truck. i finally got it to actually work with no problems. and now have the turbo rebuilt and a high flow muffler ready to be put on. guess i'll have to try this lucas and maybe see about trying some 2 stroke. i haven't hit the road yet but would like to see the max performance and mileage i can get right off the bat. and hopefully a few more dollars in the bank.

that liquid muscle is hard to come by. and sells more at a no name truckstop then the common truckstops.

youi guys can knock additives down all you want. but when injectors get clogged. performance and mileage suffers. and when you averaging 3.75 - 4. and liquid muscle picks it back up to 4.75. it's obviously cleaning the injectors. i'll use it all month long.

    MNdriver Thanks this.

With my good 'ol Mack I tried any additive possible but I NEVER had a fuel mileage improvement. So I don't trust'em anymore.
