Tried Motorkote fuel additive and did not notice any difference in mpg or performance.

I use an additive by ProOne..it gave me an xtra 1.1 mpg..Knight is testing it in some of their trucks now...its good stuff.. I also use the oil stabilizer as well..was a Lucas fan, but this stuff is great...and NO I'm not a salesman for this stuff either. I believe in it. found it at a trade show and been using it for a year now...fewer engine issues now.

I agree and good advice. For additive to make a difference it has to be in larger quanities than just a few ounces to 100+ gallons.

Not really sure why anyone would buy any kind of additive for lubricity when so many places have biodiesel blends. Just a 2% bio blend adds more lubricity than the old diesel used to have, and ups the lubricity far more than any additive will. And bio will up the cetane level also. The added plus is that you just pay for the fuel. And I have been using bio blends since I bought my '06, and have never had a component failure or a winter gel up.

Now additives for anti gel or control icing in fuel is another thing.

I was under the impression that with this new ultra low sulfur fuel, that we must put put some additive in to compensate for the lack of lubricity in the new fuel?

That is the main reason I use Wal-mart 2 cycle oil in the fuel because my 98 Cat motor was built when diesel had 3000 ppm sulfur in it for lubrication and now that the ULSD has only 15 ppm sulfur taking away most of the lubrication qualities in the fuel.

As far as bio-diesel goes, it might be great stuff in the midwest and other parts of the country that have had it around for years, but the Southeast just started using it with the quality suffering badly due to way too many small makers of bio with no quality control of the garbage we are being forced to use.

I will not put bio-diesel in my truck again due to two bad experiences with it in the southeast.

The government bio fuel mandate needs to go along with the taxpayer funded subsidy for bio suppliers needs to stop.
