Here’s what I used.
It’s a rubber frost plug you can buy in any parts store.
I drilled the bolt that sticks out from the frost plug after tightening the nut.
I then used a key ring to attach the chain to the cap.
The picture of the cap and chain I just took now and you can see it is still holding up well with zero leaks.
Also plug in the picture is not necessarily the exact side you need.
You need to measure your hole and purchase accordingly.
If I can be of any more help just let me know.

Is the plug in the picture you sent the one you used?
-
Not sure on what the exact size I used is.
Take your cap with you to the parts store and get the appropriate size. -
Work perfect!!!! Dont need to buy $300 worth of new caps...just spend the $12.59 (with tax) and do these
-
I keep buying the wrong size lol can you tell me what size you used? And do you have a freightliner?
-
I'll have to measure...i did puond it in a little, but its in tight and aint going nowhere
Mcast3092 Thanks this. -
Hey guys so I finally got the freeze plug in. Ice and snug, but now my fuel cap is very hard to screw on and off. Any thoughts to why?
