What do you guys recommend for fuel purchases when having a driver? What is the best deal out there?

    I'm new to the business.

If you bought a truck with no experience, I wouldnt worry about it. Odds are you will be bankrupt soon. Call OOIDA they have deals with companies that offer fuel cards and discounts.

NASTC is probably the best out there in terms of discount and fees. It's through FleetOne, and NASTC brands the card. They require membership, and now, you need to either go to one of their 1-day seminars in Tennesee, or you need to buy one of their product packages. As a carrier, you very well could benefit from the products they offer. Membership is $250 annually. The class is free, but you pay to get there. They have truck parking. If you don't want the class option, their first product package is about $38 per month, on top of the annual fee. The do offer some handy auditing and compliance services for that monthly fee.

I didn't want any of it, :) I just wanted the membership for the fuel program, but once they pitched me on "Package 1", I realized it would let me offload some of the more tedious compliance auditing from my business office, over to them.

If you're not interested in NASTC, you can always look at FleetOne directly from them, but the discount isn't as much at the pump. Sometimes depending on several variables, you can find NASTC fuel discounts in the neighborhood of .30-50 cents per gallon, with .27 per gallon being the current average for them. FleetOne is in the .03-.10 range I think.

OOIDA or if you have a small fleet apply directly to a fuel chain. Pilot, Loves, TA, Petro. And best of luck to you, you can make it.

OOIDA benefits from the fuel card . Not the member . No matter what OOIDA offers you can get a better deal elsewhere . OOIDA just makes it easier to pay higher prices for several services at one place .

Multi service.. you set a truck # pin and limit a day for example ours are set at least 1000 a day if by some odd reason a driver needs more fuel just call multi service and approve more Money
