I use cash (credit sometimes) as well, the fuel card companies seem to charge a fee for everything. I use places that let you use your debit card and get the cash price. The only large chain that lets you do this is petro. A lot of mom and pop places let you use debit card.
Make sure that you check ALL of the fees that these fuel cards are charging. Comdata seemed to be the worst offender IMO.Big Duker and Eskimo6804 Thank this. -
I use the fleet-one that I got set up on after joining OOIDA.
Pretty much all it is is a debit card where they'll take $$ right from my account once per week. You can specify the day. They also sent checks that work a lot like comchecks. You don't get a discount at the pump but they're supposed to rebate you like 2cents per gallon. I'll have to check my last fill-up with the bank records.Big John Thanks this. -
Now see.....

Some times you have to use the advanced search feature -
In this case, it doesn't hurt to start a new thread as features, charges and benefits probably have changed quite a bit since the older thread

How is this working? How do you pay cash when fuel is high? My bank has a limit of $300 per day withdraw from the ATM. Plus how many people actually have a bank card for the ATM's at truck stops? I would have to pay the ATM fee of $3.00 (give or take) plus my bank will charge me an additional $1.75 for using someone else's ATM. So I got $300 for fuel. At $2.50 a gallon that's only 120 gallon a day we could buy. Even less when fuel is higher. I guess it could work for solos but I'm afraid it would entirely too much hassle for a team. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of paying cash, I'm just afraid of how it would work out. -
the limit is on ATM withdrawls not point of service purchases.
use cash. You'll likely be getting advances from brokers on comchecks. you will cash the comchecks or use them directly to pay for the fuel -
When I was car hauling, my boss used Wright Express. I guess it was cash price.
