You pretty bang on now, no one thinks that 990 is nice but the interior is probably the best in the business and you spend so much time in the cab so why not lol.
Few guys have the 589 pacair and they are 7-8 mpg, maybe should look at volvo they say 10 mpg USA lol
I will go cummins thoLast edited: Oct 30, 2021

Really depends where you run and what you pull. My numbers are mostly from two lane roads. I’m positive with a different trailer and freight, and interstates, I’d see in the 9s consistently.

Yeah I haul a curtain so that doesn't help, but we haul mostly west coast area Washington Oregon Idaho and we have a trip to Indiana .
Weights range from 60-95000 pounds but were usually lighter then we are heavy -
If you're concerned about fuel cost why would you buy a w990 and not the t680. What can you get in the interior in the w990 that you can't in the t680
-
Because I've heard the w990 can get solid fuel mileage not far off from 680 and I'm sure the w990 will hold better resale value, because the 680 litterally has none
-
There’s not a new truck built that holds resale value. If you’re looking at it as an investment, buy real estate instead.

I agree to a certain extent and I didn't buy my 379 for it's resale value but I think my now 20 year old 379 is worth more than a 20 year old Volvo.lol

Big reason my dad selling his dump truck and going back into working for a friends construction company . fuel prices keep going up and with rates being at $78 a hr and $71 a hr to him and not always staying in the gta being all over the place he’s not making much . when he goes to places like Guelph or kitchener the truck burns like $300 a day . if u work only 10 hrs a day fuel is half your pay check . he hauls asphalt
GenesisTransport Thanks this. -
I understand that. Bit when you buy say a 680 for 200k in 5 years your lucky if that vehicle is worth 50k, now of you bought w900 for 200k in 5 years that truck is still worth 100k that's a huge difference. But if your saving 2k a month on fuel that differance is easily made up and then some
