I know I'm a little late on the reply but I just had to reply. I have a dedicated run from Columbus, MS to Fairfield, AL twice a day and fuel up at the loves in McCalla, AL 3 times a week and I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes they get so irritating to me I physically threaten them. Sometimes I almost climb in their trucks and move it for them. On my job I'm always behind even when I'm running ahead so I understand your frustration fully.

I try to avoid this whole situation by fueling either very early in the morning or at night. I don't wait til I NEED fuel and must wait in line, I generally fill up daily and when there is an opportunity at the end of the day when I am going in to park, if there is an open pump available immediately, I use it. Otherwise check in the morning. Wasting time waiting for fuel is ridiculous in my mind.

...This thread is a WIN.(OP)
Now, here are the rules as I see them.
1) Park on pumps for 15 minutes doing a log book.
2) Get out, start fueling, walk inside and spend 30 minutes.
3) Come back to truck, pull forward.
4) Slide your tandems...
5) Go back inside and spend another 30 minutes walking around.
6) Come back to truck, slide tandems once more.
7) Again go back inside to get your meal that took forever to become ready.
8) Come back and eat food.
9) Go to leave and your trailer falls off.
10) Wonder why someone got pissed and did that.bullhaulerswife, Eaton18 and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -
Maybe they got pissed since you forgot to come back and get your trailer!!!!!!

I'm glad I don't have to deal with this. 99% of the time I fuel at the shop/yard before leaving. I've had to wait on another truck there, but no store in the yard for them to go milling about. I have fueled on the road, but have always managed to hit it at the right times, no waiting, several open isles. I do go by the Flyin-Hook (Emporia) several times. I've seen it so bad, that trucks were parked on the shoulder of the highway waiting to get in to fuel. I just LMAO as I go by. How ridiculous. Is it they all must fuel there ? That's not the only place that sells diesel fuel in the area. I wouldn't be wasting my time waiting, but using it to find somewhere else.

The TA in Jessup? It's always backed onto the street...
-
I'll keep that in mind in case I'm sent that way. Don't really care for TAs anyway. My little brother tells me that most of the time when a Love's opens a new T/S, they will offer their fuel at a real cheap price, for a while anyway. Those Love's are always backed way up. He likes fueling at those. So far about the only "chain" T/S I use are the AM Best, other than that, it's the small mom & pop.-insert name- Thanks this.

you got me net if i was to see a crowded fuel stop im off to the next one. i mean ive never seen it get that bad out here.
