after finding out that my soot looking filters were from exhaust gas getting by the injectors & not by anything else, the aftermarket kit on the injectors did the trick, helped more than triple the life of the fuel filter. used additives to clean fuel sys, thought it was what I needed. other than anti gel you prob do not need any additives. this will be the first winter after inj fix. last year I was changing filters as little as 200 miles when temp was down to 20 degrees. I hope filters last like they are now. current one on now is at 28,000 miles & clear & clean. about 60 % full.

But you end up spending a dime to save a nickel. The fuel has plenty of lubricity in it. Has to meet minimum standards and most of it has bio in it anyway.
heavyhaulerss and G/MAN Thank this. -

Without having my costs of fuel and additive and mile/gal. numbers how do you know that I am spending a dime to save a nickel?

Hahaha! Cause I used to dump Super tech brand TC-3 2 stroke in my pickup and I record fuel mileage every fill up on that for the past 10 years since it was new and the mpg gain was negligible if any at all.
heavyhaulerss Thanks this.
