Thought I'd do a poll to see what folks are driving and what fuel mileage they are getting.

MPG...3.5 on a good day. Its nothing to burn 325 gallons of fuel a day, its nothing to burn more fuel in a month than some drivers burn in a year, and I will also say peelot should make a frequent fueler club I could have a leather jacket in a matter of a monthGearWarrant and wore out Thank this. -

I can't speak for other parts of the country on cattle rates, but around here if you haul for the cost of fuel we consider that the bare minimum for a rate. Its like every other part of trucking when it comes to rates, poor rates and they're getting worse. They call and say $4/mile and a persons eyes get big, when the fuel cost is $1+/mile and you've got a 200-900+ mile bounce that $4/mile goes down real quick.
But that's why we load em like a freight car and drive em like a racecar. I enjoy it though so I can't complain...well except for when I hear some guy complain about getting 6.8mpg down from 7.2 lol then I get a little hot under the coller -
2011
International
Prostar
Maxxforce 13
10 speed direct
2.50 tag
445's
dry van + ~35,000 cargo
65mph
7.25mpg over last 150,000 miles with a fair amount of idling & Western mountains
I know that's rutherford's latest pitch, but unless you run a lot of toll roads, you would be better off with a tag axle. Shorter (lighter & more efficient) driveshaft, more traction when bobtail, & better rolling resistance.
