Just use your vin # at the dealer. They will be cheaper than cat or take your serial #. Cat charges full retail.
-
-
Serial # will be fine. And yes the dealer should have it.

Not all the dealerships screw everyone, I have two different dealers around home, one always gives the you better be sitting down price, and the other gives as good if not better prices than any of the truck dealerships.

I changed the fuel pressure regulator today. HOLY CRAP that valve did not want to come out, it fought me every step of the way. I had to remove the manifold from the engine and bolt it to my work bench, I then threw everything I had at it and it wouldn't budge. finally I had enough fighting with it and removed all the fittings and the temp sender, then welded a nut to the valve and it finally gave up and let me win.
Pressure seems the same but, it builds much faster and holds the pressure after I shut the engine off. Before it would build pressure so slow and when the engine was shut down the fuel pressure gauge would drop like a stone. I'm happy, looks like some positive results from all that effort, I will see how it performs this coming week as I didn't drive it with a load yet.
EDIT they gave me PN#2821915 and told me it is the updated part for my 6TS -
How much pressure are you running at idle and how much at cruise speed?
-
Well, before the valve was replaced it was 55-60 at idle and 70 at cruise and 60 under load.
After the valve replacement, idle is the same but, I wont know cruise and load pressures till sometime this week. -
When my fuel filters start getting old/dirty, my fuel pressure drops to about where yours is.
Otherwise I run 80 to 100 psi. -
Mine drops a little to but, filters are new here. My load got pushed off a little due to weather so I wont be able to see cruise and load pressures till they give the go ahead.
