Bush is spending like a drunken sailor and government has expanded more under him then anyone else. I'm not a democrat. I actually voted for bush the first time around. His talk was what I liked, his reality was a whole different story. I have a problem with the republican party not being for anything other then defense and religion. Especially the later.

But this isn't the political thread so it shouldn't be here and I'm bad for even bringing that much in here

bill o'reilly is a great problem solver and smart individual, we need to send suggestions and ideas to him or info for him to try to solve or come up with a solution or movement. millions watch him every evening, he is our best bet, he doesn't play the media b.s. just the facts. he reaches out to millions who do and don't like him, this effects everyone whether they like bill or not, this is big.

the only way this will get put on top is if you guys keep sending fox news and bill oreilly emails on the subject so that they can see how important this is, this is a movement.

If you understand and believe unity is not an option then regulation would be an alternative one.
I personally think unity amongst the trucking industry is not going to happen... Not when large corporations are making the revenue they currently are. As I said they simply will tweak a few things fire some managers, hold bonus (except CEO bonuses) and pay raises, look to forighn labor ext... That's reality, they are not going to join any front that is trying to regulate or unite and set a bottom line to be charged to customers.... If your looking at rates as a solution then regulation would be a option.. First I am not for goverment regulations and really support the free market.. But in this "specific situation" (rates) I can see where a regulation would help the common business owner.. (this is under the current situation with fuel prices ext..)

The fact is Fuel prices are not going to go down.. Perhaps a little but it is not going to go down drastically EVER again.. It is what it is

    Time is another option
Sure in time things will balance out.. Consequences of this is
    1. Foreign labor making a huge impact
    2. A lot of small business owners will begone before it ever balances out
    3. Lower pay for drivers do to forighn competition..

    Fuel Regulation
Sure you can regulate, most other utilities across America have been regulated one time or another (as of recent)
(I personally don't agree this option)

    Shipping tax
A tax that customers will have to pay to lower diesel fuel prices.
    (read this on another forum)

Many other options too look at as well

I feel that oil and gas companies should not be allowed to give bulk discounts to trucking companies. If the swift and schneiders of the world had to pay pump price it would DRASTICLY level the playing field.
