Is this a common thing for a company to charge? Is this something that is charged to company drivers or just o/o? I am applying to a company that posted a 30% fuel surcharge on their website but I'm trying to gather as much info as i can before I talk to them. (I like to be informed)
Also is it normal to not find the pay rates posted? I have been scrounging the internet but i can't find the rates for this company. Suggestions and hints please.

Surcharge is not a charge to the driver it's a charge to the customer to help offset the cost of fuel. It is paid to the O/O. And if a company is not passing on 100% of it they're screwing you.

As you can tell I know nothing at this point. But as I figure, there is nowhere to go but UP!

Company driver should never be paying for fuel...ever. The company has plenty of ways to send you money if they don't give you a fuel card

Well you found a good place to come for information, read all you can.
If it's a typical 'lease to carrier' arrangement you're getting into the company should give you all the details as far as pay goes.Nik2015 Thanks this. -
I've heard stories about companies asking drivers to pay for fuel.."technical error with fuel card". That means they're going out if business real soon or........it'll take 3 weeks to reimburse you
