Said they would have to pull the CPL and check with Cummins. Mines a Black-top also. Need to find cincy and see if he can research it if I give the CPL.

435 N14 cumins can go to a 500hp with just an ecm program. if you swap the turbo it can go to 525hp
wtm Thanks this. -

400 is the top rating for smaller cam and injectors I believe so it can't go higher without replacing parts. 435 is the lowest setting of the higher HP parts. Companies buy these in 435 so they can have the low 435hp for their drivers then when it comes time to sell them they can bump it to 500 for better resale. Same reason they buy the 9 speeds that can be converted to 13's -
I had a website that showed what each electronic motor could be adjusted too but now I can't find it.

electronic.. blah.... You know you want a mechanical cummins in a 359 pete!

Just a thought if the n14+ at 400 is as high as it will go then how does PPowr claim to increase by 175hp? Its all done through the ecm so......?
WTM I was under the same impression. 435 is the lowest for the red-top. 435 possibly highest for the black?Last edited: Jun 17, 2009

Look man, you motors got over a million miles on it? just what do you think your going to do with it????? It already is due for an overhaul. when you have it overhauled just have it done with the bigger cam, injectors and turbo for the 525hp. anything you do to that motor now is liable to just blow it up
