Total hours away from home divided by pay. :biggrin_2559: You come up with some crazy stuff. Trucking is different we all now that. OTR drivers don't get paid by the hour never have and probally never will and most are gone one or two weeks at a time so at $2500 a week by 24hrs in a day times 7 days thats 168 hours at $14.88 an hour. Lets say it is a company driver that is paid .35 cpm and runs 2500 miles a week so at 168 hours he is making $875 gross at $5.20 a hour. You give me a headache.

I make about $4.57 per mile which adds up to $3,472.79 per week divided by 207 hours per month equals about $73.93 per hour. Give or Take... Who can do the math :p

Well aren't you special. Lot's of difference in operations so it is hard to compare your operation to others.

It was a joke...just adding to the mathematical headaches. The numbers obviously do not square up at all and don't make any realistic sense anyways.

    Cheers :biggrin_25525:

Getting back to the fuel prices going up... I really have to beef with that. My fuel surcharge just goes up along with it. The base cost on fuel is $1.25 with fuel surcharge based on 6 mpg. Since I average around 7 mpg, my cost per mile on fuel actually goes down as the price rises.

And I fuel my Jeep Liberty diesel from fuel I pump from the tanks on the truck, so I get to pass on the fuel savings to my personal ride as well.
