You got told you were wrong, proved you were wrong but still stand behind your statement of andSo according to you another way of descending a grade is to RIDE the brake all the way to the bottom of the hill and WHEN, not if, but WHEN it catches fire just keep riding...................

Anyone with an IQ above 5 knows if you take 2 objects and PRESS them together while one is moving; due to something called FRICTION it will build heat and it will continue to build heat until the objects are no longer touching.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 3, 2013

Test them, help me slow down, either way it applies the brakes! When Im running 70mph and enter a 55mph zone; yep I use it to slow me down!!

You use it for dumping and I use it to slow me down a couple MPH!! Would I try to go down a mountain using just that?? NEVER!! However, like I said, coming to a reduced speed area such as a town or construction zone, Yep I do use it!!Last edited by a moderator: Feb 3, 2013

	InstructionsMountain Driving
Apply light, steady pressure to the brake pedal so you do not overheat the brakes. Overheated brakes can result in melted air lines and a complete loss of air brakes. Avoid a hard application of the brakes. A stable breaking procedure will work better and reduce the likelihood of overheating the brakes. Driving down a mountain in a big truck can be extremely dangerous and should only be attempted by an experienced driver or with a certified instructor in the truck supervising.

As I said, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Sometimes there's more than one correct answer.
Just like it states "loss of air brakes", not spring brakes, it's reading comphrension.
pattyj, Tonythetruckerdude, MNdriver and 1 other person Thank this.
