I've become more & more a "freeze baby" in my old age.

Even though I was born & raised in (Too dark, too cold, for too long) Cleveland, hate the cold. Anything below 65 and I'm freezing.

If I had to choose, I'd rather sweat to death any day, over freezing to death. My co-driver exact opposite. I've come to the conclusion he is part Eskimo! LOL.

Got to agree on that 100% humidity, though. Lived in Houston, & spent time in Louisiana & Mississippi. That can be pretty rough, but I'll take it over cold anyday.

    To each their own....... ;)

It's going to be Southwest or West for me.

Having a hard time deciding on where to buy properties. Something to like everywhere.

Leaning towards Reno/Tahoe & love Mt. Shasta area. But, still thinking of AZ, NM, TX, CA & CO.

Will prob go with NV first, then find others later but, ....... going to wait till spring, at least, to decide.

    Well,

Couple thousand miles, and repeat of sensor light show & shutdowns within two weeks of leaving Jacksonville, FL. Guess I was wrong that they got it right, yet again. Made our way to CA with one episode, then another after requesting routing back to Springfield.

Only two weeks after replacement, told that new exhaust filter ($2000+) is shot. One previous to that, less than year ago. Now prob linked to intercooler that "should" have been checked last several times it was in.

Starting to get a real education as to how some of these dealerships handle warranty work, and it's not always a pretty picture.

So, another few days down dealing nearly all with interrelationships of owner, Prime, Freightliner, & independent dealerships. All, with no work being done. 95% talk & communications (or lack thereof), and 5% actual work done. And, I thought I had left a life of almost 30yrs in politics behind. Heh, heh, heh...........how ironic!

All good, and I can find amusing since I am retired from another career. Never get off road, so consider this my rest breaks. But, can see how frustrating & critical this can be for those (L/O & O/O) whom every settlement counts. Gaining yet more knowledge on the way to eventually becoming an O/O, before taking the leap. Oh, so much more to learn along the path, "grasshopper".

    PEACE ;)

Back to rolling, NJ bound. Oh, boy......one of my favorite places. Time to get into battle mode! :biggrin_255:

Well, ran from SpringMo to Jersey, Jersey to upper NE Maine, a dedicated Wal-Mart route in NH out of Maine, and from Maine to Chicago.

So far, truck running well. Freightliner may have actually gotten things right this time. (cough, cough......said this before).

Going to withhold judgement, however, till we get a few more thousand miles in. But, so far running great. Would be nice to be able to run till end of year without major issues/revenue interruptions, before getting new truck.

    Peace

    EDIT:
Forgot to mention my first run-in with a wrong way driver on highway at night outside Chicago. THAT is some scary ####. Car shot out onto road from "exit" in front of me, crossed over lanes, and whizzed by on left with only inches to spare. Amazingly, no head on collision. Who knows what may have happened further behind me. Guess my heart is alright. If I was ever going to have a heart attack, It would have happened then.
First order of business afterwards.....pulled over to change my shorts, then back to work. :biggrin_25524:

Last few days, ran a Hi Val load from Chicago to CO. Been a little while since running one of those. Dropped down & ran a load from KS to MI. Then, from MI to where I'm sitting in Phoenix, AZ waiting for reciever to open in am.

Truck has been running fantastic, but still waiting to see how it goes with further miles.

Glad to be sitting out west, rather than back in NE!

    PEACE. ;)
