Interesting. I take a Reliance foldable camp toilet on the road. It's not great for regular use. But in an emergency it's better than the alternatives. Thanks for taking the time to explain your set up!

There are also some pretty nice portable box toilets available that operate in same manner, or utilize bags. Double as seat/table top in back. Sure as hell beats crapping in trash can in emergency, not that I have ever been there.....
As far as shower, see few posts above I where I linked to Joolca. Lot's of things you can do, even with standard sleeper. Just takes a bit of imagination.
Best of luck to you on all.
Oh yeah, Chinatown will ABSOLUTELY be your man for current up to date referal info. No idea how he stays up on all, since long gone from industry. But, he has good heart. Has helped out more folks here than I could ever count.
✌Speed_Drums and TurkeyCreekJackJohnson Thank this. -
Good Lord,
Have all these companies actually scared EVERYONE off boards looking for company info?
So sad.
I remember how much help & advice I received over 10yrs ago. If it wasn't for the encouragement, help & advice I received, I do not think I would have ever even started into trucking.
I also think back to all those whom had interest I was able to help back then & continue to help after they made the leap.
Heck, we all stuck together here helping each other out while we learning.
Man, what a sad state of affairs things have become with all the fear, in this day & age. Should be about continuation & passing things on down to the newcomers.
All these companies need to re-examine themselves & do much, much better.
Heya Rob. If'n you see this or it gets back to you.......
talking to you, too! -
Hey FullMetalJacket, nice to see pictures of the new upgrade.
Been a while, I’m working on getting my CDL again let it go in 2021 as my ex fiance didn’t like me driving so I let it go and well now she’s an ex and I miss the money so here I am again starting at ground zero again. I hope the market is treating you well I may pick your brain at some point as looking at buying a truck in a year or so.FullMetalJacket Thanks this. -
Heya Bud!
Good to see you pop up again. Hope you have been doing well.
Market not so good, but hopefully that will turn around sometime before 2050.....
In the meantime, apprehensivly hanging in there. Though, I am thinking more & more of changing things up.
As you can see, I rarely come back here. I had some down time when I bought new truck. Most of the time I don't think of it & wrapped up with way too much other stuff. -
Oh yeah,
Figured out solution to make fresh watertank water drinkable (and all around safe). If I hook up a pump...I can source water even from lake, stream, puddle.
I got the portable 3 filter setup. They do have a 2 filter system with an integral pump for boondocking, but wanted the 3rd filter.
You can definately build your own on the cheap yourself with off the shelf standard housings/fittings & just buy the filters. Either full size housings or half size.
The regular plain RV store/Walmart RV inline filters just won't cut it with the sometimes potentially questionable water availability out here & I do not want to take any chances.
If using known quality (like home city water), would not be as much of an issue, but I do not have that luxury. I still check out whatever tap source beforehand (sniff & visual), even with the filters. If anything to preserve filter life. But, nice to know that they can handle most anything if needed if SHTF.

Heya Elmer,
I really appreciate the input from someone whom actually had one.
As I mentioned, I had only run into this but had not persued at all due to buying what I did.
Input is very valued, as I was still considering looking into for another truck.
Thank you.ElmerFudpucker Thanks this. -
Forgot to quote.
Edit: I guess I did quote... man, rusty as all get out around here.
See, I'm not around enough to even remember how to do things around here.... LOL
I think if I did anything to an existing sleeper, I would do tear down & build myself, considering what folks want for what they offer.
Have had & seen too many new ideas in the interim since purchase.
Still happy with what I got, but........
✌
