After WW2, Japan was known for its cheap, low-quality imports. Now look at them. Probably, the same thing will happen with China. In 50 years or less, they'll be a first-world nation with high-quality manufacturing.

I thank Alibaba is a Chinese Amazon of sorts with a touch of Sams Club. You can buy most anything you want there. If it is something expensive you may be able to buy just one. You can buy your truck tires there also. Will they mix tire sizes when you order your container load? Do they actually make anything? I am not sure.

So call it 20 years after WW2, we've been buying garbage from China for that long and I've seen no improvement in quality. Yes I'm aware a lot of it has to do with companies being fine with shipping garbage here from there.

    650cat425 Thanks this.

Yeah, but as twisted as it sounds, at least these are OUR mechanics, and it keeps the money here. We owe China so much, we simply have to start turning this around, we build our own products, we use our own products, just like the 60's.
Re: Chinese brides. With all due to Chinatown, who clearly lucked out, many are not so lucky. I know a guy, met a Chinese gal, odd as a 12 dollar bill. It's culture clash, they aren't Americans and there's a glut of Chinese women , where the men want nothing to do with them, and their only hope is to get out of the country on a marriage deal. While we'd like to think they are all cute little Geisha girls, just t'aint so.

Its not so much the quality as the fact that the Chinese are so unethical. They take quality Western made products that a good company, paying good wages has invested millions to develop, and they copy it. They have no development costs and they contribute zero to our economy, other than causing great hardship to the company they are ripping off.
