Cassens was test loading one like this in Smyrna a few years ago. I got to take it for a short ride around Nashvilleand I liked it. It is an American Lafrance, the maker of the worlds best fire trucks. With the long wheel base it rides great. Some of the drivers at Allied liked the Freightliners we had there, but I never drove one. I don't think I would trade my Pete for one even if I could haul 12 instead of 11. I am image conscious now that I am back in a Pete! Lol

Banker is correct. I think there's only 3-4 left here. All are in Belvidere.
There actually good trucks now that the Freightliner warranty is up and they can fix them how they need to be.Hammer166 Thanks this. -
I'm just not sure I could get used to having to look UP to see the back of an ICC bar? lol
-
Yup..that's what I saw. Guess I could get used to one.

They are lighter, both because of the lighter engine and a smaller footprint.
I didn't know about the air intake, I only drove a day cab once in that configuration, and it pulled as well as the DD15 with the same horsepower and torque rating. 150 some miles bringing an empty reefer home, and someone else got to drive it back after it got used by us for a week or so. Never opened the hood on it.
