So they paid for what you ate thanksgiving and are willing to pay you 300 if you stay out xmas and new years? Holly cow..i have never worked for a company that even said happy turkey day or merry christmas.. Let alone payed me for it.

 

I never worked for a company that didnt pay holiday pay.

 

There has been some confusion about what they pay and to many giving bad info but my time with family at Christmas cant be bought for $300.00 . I gave up my first Thanksgiving ever and didnt make enough to justify it. Family is important to most but for a few not so much.

 

Well i have 3 years and you have 20. I do assume practices have changed a bit inbetween. My dad used to get a turkey or ham along with a 350 dollar bonus every year but he hasnt gotten anythong like that in 15 years. Ive worked at central ref and crete/shaffer. Neither company ever wished me a happy holiday or paid me.
As this is the internet and i cant tell what tone of voice you are usong, Im going to assume you were not trying to be sarcastic towards me but i have noticed this thread is filled woth negativity towards folks. Fre seems to be a good company but i do believe we need to loose all the negativity towards one another.

 

No I wasn't being sarcastic but there is a lot of negativity. Driver moral is down. Management and load planning need tweeking.

 

Gotcha,Like i said. I didnt know but you cant tell on tue internet.. Here lately it seems like a lot of negativity but then again daniel and holycow have been super welcoming to all my questions. Platinum did rub me the wrong way but you get that from everyone. Its part of life. I do see tons of potential in fre but like most have stated, a few things need tweaked. I believe i can deal with what problems are here and make a pretty good living for my family. If not, i was looking for a job when i found this one!

 

hey fella's,it is what it is/a trucking job.the drivers are relating what kind of day they are having and what is going on their end.i dont think they are trying to be negative,but it is a forum of a bunch of guys driving trucks.it just comes out negative because its like watching fox news;negative sells.when driving 11 hrs and then sitting in a dock 4 hrs and then having to go to the shop and getting a trlr fixed,it kinda puts the driver in a negative mood...but realy these drivers are all real good people and i love em[even tennessee]he is a real good person also.we are just having fun with each other in a senical way.there is nothing we would'nt do for each other.we are a brotherhood
