Its super easy to find. There is a Walmart next door and a mall within walking distance. I showed up at 1100 for my appointment and there was an HVH truck there getting unloaded before me.

I ended up with an overloaded JBS load, that I give a heads up 2 days prior and it took 6 hours to rework for 1000 pounds less. it also has 100 gallon fuel tank I set the tandems in at 600 pounds each hole. not to mention I can only fuel 35 gallons of the time. there's no way I'm going to get this load delivered on time due to all the delays, I hope I'm compensated for the rework of 6 hours because I was only able to drive 350 after. yesterday was up since 4 I started at 430. I didn't leave Grand Island almost 2 p.m.. I stopped last night around 8. I didn't end up starting my clock tower left Grand Island though.

About 3-5 miles south of the JBS plant is a CAT scale at the Conoco. Its just south of the US34 and US85 interchange. East side of the road. There is a scale on site, but I don't think they will allow you to use it.

JBS in Greeley allows use of their scale. Its a full platform scale. Have to go on it until your tandems are just about to be on the scale. Then scale the full load. Then pull off so just your steers are off the scale. Its been pretty accurate. Of course, you can always go back to the Bosselman's and use the cat scale.

One thing I don't understand. Why do we get booked with loads that are over 44.5k? We know our trailers are heavy. The planners must know our trailers are heavy. The shippers have to know by now that our trailers are heavy. When I had to wait for a reload in Waterloo, I was told by Jon that since everyone else can scale those loads, we have to try as well. If that is the case, then why do we keep buying used trailers? Granted the ones we are getting are lighter than those POS XTRA lease trailers, but still. Brand new trailers can weigh in at 13-13.5k empty with full 50 gallon fuel tanks, be more fuel efficient on the refer and be more fuel efficient pulling them. Its a win, win, win in my eyes. Plus you can keep them for 4-5 years and they would pay themselves, if spec'd correctly, in 2-3 years. I am really hoping that 2013 sees BRAND NEW trailers coming to Furniture Row. Since we keep having month after month of record profits, why can we not spend some of that and invest in equipment?

This week miles haven't been to great. Thanks to the the driver that didnt check 2141to before he dropped it at DeQueen. The reefer wouldnt start and run so I got Almost 700over miles just taking my empty to them from Memphis and taking 2141a back to New Albany.
I dont understand why drivers dont post trip their trailer before dropping it. Its not fair for other drivers to have to get issues repaired that some lazy driver failed to handle. But this time it worked to my advantage. 700 easy miles.
