Well night shift isn't happening anymore. Made it to Cudahy and got my load of Lard to take to US Foods in Garland. Was about out of hours so I went to the Pilot in Oak Creek Wisconsin, I94, exit 220. The air gauge reads over 60 so I know I'm heavy. Jump on the scale and sure enough it says I am at 80140. Way over on the tail so I sneak back over and they unload and totally reload the trailer. They tell me they have removed 6 boxes of product and that I should be fine now. So I sneak back over to the Pilot and sure enough my weight has changed. I now weigh 80220 pounds! Called them and told them I would be back in the morning. Tell Greg and he agrees and asks me to slide the tandems all the way back and see what we have. I am now parked at the Loves across the street so I roll over their Cat Scale and it says I weigh 80740! I talk with the manager and he tells me they get complaints about the Pilots Cat Scale all of the time but no one has calibrated the scale. So I move the tandems forward a few holes and it evens out somewhat but the weight is the same. If there is one thing I remember my trainer Justin Smith telling me at Central Reefer is you cannot slide gross weight. Greg figures I was probably closer to 81000 when I went back the first time. So if you get out this way, don't trust the Pilot.

Made it to Denver, left my young copilot playing with a Mack at the yard. Nice looking but has,elect API on back wall. Anyway now a the TA getting tires on the trailer belts coming out of 2 so far an a nail in the 3rd shook me to death again so I know it's the trailer now

 

Have never sat in a Mack let alone driven one. Arent they owned by Volvo?

 

Yea now they are and not very dependable,either. I like the way they look though. Used to own a Superliner back in 97 had the V8 with a Mack 12 speed, 6 reverse gear. That puppy would run
