Some of you longtime users may recall an individual on here going by the username of Gadfly, who often put down us CB operators by calling us scoflaws, and using terms (mimicking deep south accents) like "extree channels" and "leenyeers" or putting words in mouths of those with export radios with "ah gawts speshul raghts on tham thar extree channels".
To put it plainly, almost any time someone posted here about an amplifier or a 10 meter "reddio" (as he often put it), Gadfly was usually quick to pounce and scold us on such behavior. And while I dont agree with his stereotypical antics in his tone of voice in thinking us CB ops are a bunch of backwoods types, he was right about a few things radio related and actually did provide some decent advice from time to time.
Well, come to find out Mr Jerry Walker Oxendine has gone 10-7 forever in the great radio sky. So with that we say RIP Gadfly, we will fire up our linears in your legacy so you can hear us out there in the great beyond.

Sorry to hear Gadfly has passed. I enjoyed a lot of his posts. Remember it's SWR, not SWR'zzzzzz.
