    I've been thinking about getting one. Anyone running on, and not having it directly wired to the battery?

    ...just so those who might have wonder about my question. I have an answer. I was able to operate the radio directly off the electrical system of the semi, without hard wiring the radio directly to the battery. Performance seems to be OK.

    The radio has yet been peak and tuned. That though is about to be changed....hopefully tomorrow as the company I work for has given the go ahead to do a direct connect to the battery of the semi.
