Hi I am having issues with my radio. I have a galaxy 959 that come with the truck set up with duel fire Stix set roughly 8' apart (top of drivers and passenger mirror brackets). When I tried to calibrate my antennas my SWR on am is 4 (on channel 40 and channel1)but usb and lsb are 1.5. I have replaced the coax from cb to antennas new studs antennas are a little over a year old. I have tested to make sure the coax to the studs are not shorted. So now I am at a loss as to how to drop the SWR to an acceptable range. I have a cobra 29 I have tried also with same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like you have a ground problem somewhere.. you said you have dual antennas I believe dual are 75 ohm..so it could be coax..

Have you ever had satisfactory performance with this setup?

What truck or vehicle are you driving? You can't check SWR by using the sideband mode, use AM mode only. Also use an external SWR meter and get a good reading (around 1.5 or so) on channel 20. Then worry about channel 1 and 40 later. It sounds like you have an RF ground issue, like with most mobile installations in today's vehicles. You said you replaced the coax, hopefully you didn't use the truck stop coax which probably won't be any better than the factory coax. Good coax has a 95 to 97 percent shielding.

Just to see but grab a cpl cheap typical trk stop studs....
It is a ground issue for sure and maybe a braided ground stap is broked...
Could be a dirty connection be it dirt or water or a kinked coax....
Post a few pics of entire set up(minus the cb part...Just wanna see ant set up and coax routeing..
